Last Week Parting moment

It was the last week, and the happy hours were always short.
We had a farewell party for them, we had pizza together, we took pictures together.I sat by and watched them play with great joy.I had a very happy evening.

At 8 p.m., all the groups and their children gathered on the cube after eating and held the closing ceremony there.
At the closing ceremony, each group leader presented their children with a certificate of entry.

Week 5

Because my brother's math is poor., I asked her to take the tables of the multiplication tables from 1 to 10.
I also gave her some questions about The Times table charts, not the Numbers.
However, I found that she still can't schedule from 6 to 9, and can't answer questions related to the multiplication table, not the number sequence.
So I asked her to keep in mind the multiplication tables.

It's the fourth week.
Through a period of communication and learning, I found that my brother really had a lot to learn.
His weak subjects are maths and English.
Unfortunately, we can only communicate in English.Although the learning process was hard, he really worked hard at the end of the week and he
had made great progress.
I hope he gets better and better.

E-learning

On April 3, 2018, we first used the i-learn card to help our children learn.
On the mobile learning platform, I -LEARN Ace developed by Sasbadi.
During the subscription period, we try to help them, but most of the information they need is filled in by themselves.
Fortunately, E-mail was registered in the first week, because it was one of the messages needed.
After registration, we introduced how to use this platform for our brothers and sisters.

Time flies and we have leave with few more weeks to complete the whole program. I would say me and the kid have developed quite a strong relationship where now they will share some story that happens in the school with me. Although it was kind of boring for me to listen to his story but I can see how wonderful the life of a him now and how I wish I were a kid again life was so fun and easy then.

I guess I wasn’t a good tutor as my kid is so smart that makes me wonder if I should study hard. He has made an impact in my second semester where I learn to be more responsible and more hardworking. He attended the classes every week no matter how the wheather goes and I always being late to the class. So I promise not to be late next time and yeah I did it and thank to him.

today is the day where we started to teach them by using a online E-learning program.
first of all we bought a card with a code that costs Rm125 to activate the  ILEARNACE. I must says that few years back when i was still a 12 year old student, i dont get to experience such an interesting learning  process so I guess the kids are very lucky to have us teaching them by using the computer nowadays. 

(Week 6) The sky’s the limit

Today is the last day of my social engagement project. We have a farewell party and closing ceremony for our children. We bought pizza and drinks for the children. We eat and talk together. After the party, we went to the cube for closing ceremony. It is a meaningful project for me. I hope my mentee will continue to do the E-learning and take a good result in her UPSR. Fear nothing, the sky's the limit.

(Week 5) The end is in sight

Today is the last teaching session with our mentee. We will have a closing ceremony for the students next week. This week, we try our best to teach our mentee as much as we can. My mentee and I study English and Mathematics today as these two subject are her weakneess and she is determined to improve her weakness.

(Week 4) Stop at nothing

Our mentee has put great effort in their studies. My mentee and I decided to study English and Science today. I can see that she has much interest in Science subject. When she met problem for the particular question, she will ask me and I try my best to explain the question to her.

(Week 3) Time to study

Today is the day we let our child to register for their ILearnAce account, a digital learning platform for them to prepare for UPSR. It is a 6 months subscription, so our mentee still can access the portal at home even after the end of our project. The website contains the latest UPSR syllabus. I am glad that my child is very eager to learn using the website to study.

(Week 2) Mr. Google

Today is the second time I meet my child. The task today is to teach her how to use Google search engine. First, I teach her how to use google search and operate it using shortcut kets. My child is a quick learner and she get started soon. We have a lot of fun that day.

(Week 1) First meet up with Mentee

13 March is the first day of my social engagement project, we have to become a tutor to the children from primary school, mostly will sit for UPSR this year. We had a first meet up with our mentee. Each of us is responsible to take care of a child. On the first day, we have an ice breaking session to let the children and us to know each other. We let the students to introduce themselves and we introduce ourselves as well. Then, we have a small faculty tour with our children.

" Week 6 " Every ending has a new beginning

WEEK  6 (24 APRIL )


Today is the closing ceremony for this program and also the last day we got the chance to meet again.
In order to thank all of  our team member as well as our mentees , we are having a Pizza party.

Today they don't have to suffer on doing the question , we just enjoy the food and play around.

After having our food ,we were asked to gather at The Cube because the closing ceremony was about to begin.

" Week 5 " Nothing will last forever

WEEK 5 (17 APRIL 2018)

Today is the last time I can teach Adilah because next week will be a closing ceremony  for this Techno-Belajar event . As usual , Adilah will do all the subject once and I will decide which subject she might need to improve. This time she get all A's for every subject . I'm very thankful that I can see the improvement of her result and  I also ask her to continue doing the exercise online although this is the last time we get to discuss all the question.

" Week 4 " Go hard or go home

WEEK 4 (10 APRIL 2018)


Today we decided to do 3 set of test for every subjects. This is a request from her because she feels like her performance in school  is not that good.I'm very surprised that this 12 years old girls actually are very concern about her studies. So,I am doing my best like actually explain every single question one by one , hoping she can understand the concept behind the question . Among all the subjects, Mathematics is the killer subject for her because she can't understand well but I had gave her some tips for this subject like the common type of question they will come out during UPSR and I hope she can pass the UPSR with flying colour .😀

" Week 3 " It's the time for you to get into a new business

WEEK 3 ( 3 APRIL 2018)

Today is the day we let our mentee to register their account for ILearnAce ,a fully integrated digital learning platform for student who are going to take the exam.Well , I'm very grateful that my mentee, Putri Izz Adilah was doing very well in this .

both of them are very hard-working and they are doing quite well in the exercise too.

Cant wait to meet them next week.

First time teaching

March 20, 2018.
It's the second time we've met, and we've given the kids how to use the Google search engine.
I've always thought that the Internet is one of the most convenient tools for human beings, but the web is also full of temptations.
Therefore, we should teach children how to use the Internet properly.
My brother was so clever that he soon learned most of Google's functions.
In the end, he said he never thought the Internet could be used this way.
I hope he can learn more and make more progress by using the Internet in his future life.

" Week 2 " Problem? Google it .

WEEK 2 (20 MARCH 2018)

Today is the second day we met each other. Our agenda for this week is to let them know how to use the built-in search function in Google to get the image from specific website and in specific tag.Ddue to the lab that we had booked earlier had been locked by someone, we were forced to squeezed inside a room with other team to conduct the lesson together.

On March 13, 2018, today is the day we take part in my social engagement project, and those lovely children spent a pleasant evening we all need to take care of a child to help them in preparation for the exam was communication ability is weak, I felt very nervous between me and my brother and the language, we communicate very difficult but we gradually with the help of my teammates can fluent communication so I'm glad Ihave a good team

" Week 1 " Hi , Cikgu Ho is here

WEEK  1 (13 MARCH 2018) 
Today is the first day we meet each other . We gather at The Cube in FSKTM at 6 p.m.. Then , we called out our mentee's name one by one . We expect they are very naughty but they are not . They are very nice and obedient. maybe this is the first time we met each others and they didn't show their true character .

Then , we start our ice-breaking session by introducing ourselves one by one. Some of our mentees already known each other because some of them are from the same school. After knowing each  other's name , we give them a tour in our faculty.

20 March 2018 was the second time we meet those kids. We brought our computer there and teach them how to use google search but obviously those kids are smarter than we expected, they do know how to use google search and we had a lot of fun on the day. 

HI FRIENDS 

13 March 2018 was a remarkable day which was the first day of me and my friends being a teacher. We are going to be a mentor to a 12 year old kid for 10 weeks. We gonna help them out in their studies within this few weeks. Those kids come from different distinct some are from Kuala Lumpur some are from Petaling Jaya and also Selangor. It was definitely a good platform for them to know each other in such a special program. So we gathered at faculty of Computer Science and Technology by 6.00pm and follow by a ice breaking session. 

6 - See you again

2018.4.24. Today is the day with the children,the group members bought a pizza and drink for the children to hold a party together.The children and we took photoes together and eat food,felt so happy. After hosting the party,we went to the cube to attend the closing ceremony.Each group leader awarded for the children and give my professor and I took photo together. Finally,in everyone's applause and laughter finished about two months.This is my most different friendship in UM. It is also a new life experience for me. Although we may rarely have the opportunity to meet again later,I hope my brother will thrive,have a good healthy body,we will be good friends forever. 5 - Parting days

2018.4.17. Today is the last E - learning tutorial, my brother and I studied together four courses, but due to that I did not know Malay understand too much,so there was no produce much helpness to my brother. I was very sorry my brother.We would have a farewell party for the students and a closing ceremony next week. I felt sad because the next week will be with my brother to say good bye.Because it was the last class and moderated the atmosphere,then we listened to some songs to end this meeting.

4 - Review and progress with brother

10^th April 2018.

The task of the day my brother and I decided to come to study mathematics and reviewed the English. First of all,we reviewed the multiplication and division in school. I would be happy to help brother to deal with mistakes in class and what can help his progress. Then,we went over the English grammar and word problems we had left in the last week. And we went on to learn new English grammar. Brother did a good job.I think we will get better and faster.

3 - E Learning

3 rd, April 2018

Today is Tuesday and it is a new week.Today is the day to formally tutor children to learn new knowledge.First by using E-learning CARDS sponsored by sponsoring companies to helped brother register and log in it.It is obvious that E-learning is one of the most distinctive teaching methods because it wants a fast and interesting teaching method.After loginning,web interface is very beautiful.There are all kinds of games and four subject knowledge guidance (Science,Math, English,Malay),with multiple choice and rating to interact with their children.E-learning is a more novel way of learning for children which will give them more interest in learning new knowledge.Today,my brother and I have been studying English,because we all think that English is a very important knowledge for the present and future.

2 - Ready For Study

20 March 2018 is the second time to meet my brother.Our major is computer science. In the current internet technology era,I wanted to help brother to learn new knowledge more interesting and more vividly through computer and Internet.So,prepare for the future.With this second time,I brought my laptop to my brother for basic exercises,such as familiarity with the Internet and how to use the computer.Unexpectedly, my brother could mastered the computer quickly and used Google very skillfully which made me full of confidence in the future teaching.My brother used Google's map function to know the location of Malaysia on the earth and familiar with the surrounding streets.With that,my brother was full of curiosity about this and we were constantly discussing these things.Sometimes children also studied and practiced some new functions by themselves,they looked like a research group,so amazing.

1 - Hello My Brother

As a Chinese international student at the University of Malaya,when I heared the social engagement such as social practice classes had an opportunity to made friends with local children and teached them knowledge what is a very curious and exciting things undoubtedly.

Our team members including me had 11 members. Each of them is passionate about the matters and helped each others.

2018.3.13,this is the first day and meet children day. Before this day  I just thought these children will be very lively. With expected,every children were dynamic and interesting. During we introduced ourselves to each others and when children knew that we were from China who wanted to learn Chinese curiously. However,there might be a problem about the language,communication is not very smooth. But from the eyes and actions we ccould know what means. It is saying goes “This is what is called knowledge without borders”. At the end of the first day,my members helped me to communicate with my child. Here need to thanks my good members.Every members had a child,and I would love to call my child “brother”. It will feel more firendly and closely between us. This is a new life experience for me, and I am looking forward to seeing my brother --- Muhamad Farid Haikal Bin Ab Wahab next time.

(Week 6) Thanks for the Memories

24th April 2018 - Today is the last day of our Social Engagement project, we are having a farewell party with the students. We have a pizza party because pizza is love. We enjoy ourselves with the pizzas and the beverages.

Well, this marks an end to the Social Engagement project. I wish my fellow "anak angkat" good luck for their future. And also, i hope they do well in the upcoming UPSR and get a good result.

(Week 5) Last Tutor session

17th April 2018 - Today is the last tutorial session of the project. Next week, we'll have a farewell party for the students and a closing ceremony. Therefore, today we try out best to teach our them whatever we have. I'm feeling sad because soon we are going to say good bye.

(Week 4) Road to Success

10 April 2018 - The students are so discipline and focus on the i-LEARN Ace program. They complete at least 3 topics of a subject and have a better understanding on the subject they learned. The students raise their hand to ask question to the mentor, and we are trying our best to explain to them.

(Week 3) E-Learning - Tomorrow’s skills today

3rd April 2018 - Teaching in the Internet age means we must teach tomorrow’s skills today. Staring from April, we have activated the i-LEARN Ace account for the students. Since its a 6 months subscription, we expect the students can access the portal at home even after the end of our project. The program contains the latest UPSR syllabus which is suitable for the students.

(Week 6) Pizza - The end of our project

24th April 2018 - Due to some reasons, we have to end this social engagement project earlier unfortunately. After spending some gala time with the children, we felt upset when hearing the news.
For the last day, we are trying to make a simple but memorable ceremony to them - a pizza party.
